"La Gente" Art Exhibition Closing Reception at Dorado 806 Gallery

Santa Monica, California, USA. 4th September, 2024. The "La Gente" art exhibition celebrated the closing of the show with a reception at the Dorado 806 Gallery in Santa Monica, California.

The attendees included exhibition curator Steve Galindo of the TheStyleGuyde, founders/curators of the Dorado 806 Gallery, Amelie Laurice and Meghan DeRoma, artist Jasmine Diana, Professor Walter Meyer, Chair of the Art Department at Santa Monica College, TV host Joey Zhou, founder of the Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA), director/filmmaker Harrison Engle, and a number of artists from China attending by video conference who are participating in the LABA Biennial International Art Festival - artist Jie Geng, Overseas Art Envoy for LABA, artist XiaoDa Li, Wei En, representative for artist Guangzhi En, artist Xiaoyin Tan, and artist Chun Liu.

Jie Geng is a contemporary artist born in Shuangliao City, Jilin Province, China in 1964. He currently lives in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, China. As an artist, he specializes in contemporary Zen ink painting, oil painting, and sculpture creation. He has written many articles on art that have been published in academic and professional publications, both at home and internationally.​ He is Vice President of Liaoxi Regional Culture Research Association of Bohai University, member of French National Artists Association, member of the Association of Artists and Sculptors of the Kingdom of Spain, member of French Century Art International Cultural Exchange Association, and Honorary citizen of Saint-Rémichevres, Paris-Versailles region, France.

Born in Jinzhou, Liaoning, China in 1994, XiaoDa Li is an artist who just joined the LABA Biennial International Art Festival, and is studying painting with internationally renowned artist Jie Geng. He has participated in many exhibitions and his artwork is gaining acceptance in the Chinese art world. In 2021, his artwork "Entanglement" was exhibited in the Liaoning Province's First Art Biennale and also at the "Wind Rising"-A Young Oil Painters Invitational Exhibition of the Three Northeastern Provinces. In 2022, his work "Petroleum Factory No. 6" was selected for the National Art Fund's 2020 Communication, Exchange and Promotion Project. In June 2023, he participated in the New Calligraphy and Painting Spirit Art Exhibition of China Oriental Culture Research Association. In 2024, he won the "Art Grading Certificate of the China Institute of Art and Technology", and his artwork "Interest" was exhibited in the BESET0 Art Festival-Beijing Special Exhibition.

As a first-class artist in China, Guangzhi En is known for his rare painting skills and painting techniques with strong personal expression and rich emotions. En graduated from the oil painting department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. He worked as a professional painter in Gansu Painting Academy and served as the director of the Art Committee and the director of the Theoretical Research Department of Gansu Painting Academy. His artwork is represented by Wei En, who attended the closing reception by video conference on his behalf.

Xiaoyin Tan is a highly regarded artist in the field of contemporary Chinese art. His paintings are like passionate symphonies, allowing people to feel the vitality and passion of life through the interweaving of color, shape, and line. His world is a world full of colors, emotions, and vitality. Since childhood, Tan has been deeply influenced by traditional Chinese culture, and it is the essence of these traditions that has provided a rich inspiration and profound heritage for his painting creations.

Chun Liu is a first-class artist in China and a prominent figure in the contemporary art world. Her exceptional contributions to the fusion of Chinese and Western artistic styles have earned her widespread recognition both domestically and internationally. Liu has received many honors and awards for her artwork which incorporate a commitment to innovation while honoring the traditions and heritage of Chinese culture.
