LABA International Art Festival Promotes Shortlisted Artists to Major Auction Houses
Los Angeles, California, USA. 24th May, 2022. The Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA) International Art Festival announced its shortlisted artists on September 29th, 2021 at the Four Seasons Hotel and is now actively promoting their works to major auction houses around the world. The auction houses include the well-known Sotheby's and Christie's, as well as Phillips, another international auction house that specializes in 20th Century and contemporary works of art, including design, jewels, watches, photographs, and editions. Phillips conducts live and online auctions in New York, London, Geneva and Hong Kong, and holds private sales and curated selling exhibitions around the world. They have recently expanded their footprint into the Asian art market, partnering with a major Chinese auction house on two auctions which resulted in highly successful sales, with plans to move to larger headquarters office in Hong Kong featuring permanent exhibition space.

The Beverly Arts and LABA were founded by TV host Joey Zhou, and the LABA International Art Festival was launched in Beverly Hills on October 28th, 2020. The art festival began with online registration for artists, and since the launch ceremony, the LABA organizing committee has held over 20 international events, including an awards ceremony honoring artist Jiannan Huang as a LABA Blue-chip Artist, two LABA Icon Awards ceremonies, interviews, press conferences, and many other events to promote the art festival. The LABA organizing committee includes Princess Karen Cantrell, Rotating Chairman of the LABA International Art Festival, Joey Zhou, Founder/Chairman of The Beverly Arts and LABA, Rémy Aron, Dr. G. James Daichendt, and Todd Williamson.

One of the first artists to be promoted to the major auction houses was Jiannan Huang. He is one of the world's finest artists, specializing in Chinese ink and oil painting. He is ranked third on the 2020 Hurun China Art List and 19th on the Hurun Global List with sales of $29 million. Huang holds several positions - Director of the Chinese Traditional Culture Promotion Association, member of the French National Artists Committee, art consultant for the World Low Carbon Cities Alliance, and France Jiny City Gold Medal Honorary Citizen. He was awarded the title of "Earl" by the Indonesian Royal Family, and was given an honorary membership into the Royal Society of St. George (RSSG), California Branch, and received the RSSG Master of Arts Award in 2022.
