Royal Society of St. George, California Branch Launches Animal Welfare League in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, California, USA. 14th July, 2024. The Royal Society of St. George, California Branch (RSSG-CA), held a luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, to launch the Animal Welfare League (AWL), an organization committed to providing animal assistance and services to those in need. The RSSG-CA and AWL will be hosting fundraising events throughout the year to raise awareness of their services, and their devotion to the care and rehabilitation of animals by providing emergency food, medical care, behavioral training, fostering, and adoption services. As the organization expands, it plans to collaborate with additional nonprofits to develop programs that facilitate the placement of abandoned, stray, and displaced animals into permanent and caring homes.

The event was hosted by Ratu Muda Princess Karen Cantrell, Chairman of RSSG-CA and Co-chairman of the Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA) Biennial International Art Festival. The attendees were founding members of the AWL, "The League of 20," and included: Marquis Peter L. Eckert, one of the founding members of the RSSG-CA, Donelle Dadigan, founder/president of the Hollywood Museum and multiple RSSG awardee, publicist Roger Neal, vocalist/philanthropist Laura Angelini, and Philippe Milgrom, US Ambassador for Confrérie du Sabre d'Or, Dr. Jeanne Ruderman, Maître du Protocole for Confrérie du Sabre d'Or, TV host Joey Zhou, founder of the Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA), artist Todd Williamson, military veteran/actor Christopher Loverro, Aide de Camp to the President of RSSG-CA, Honorary member Annie Chen and husband Louis Dong, Barry Simon, President of the United Nations Association of the USA - Southern California Division, Judith FLEX Helle, Chairman/CEO of Luminario Ballet, Damien Diaz, Treasurer/CFO of Luminario Ballet, Nicholas Marlin, Founder/CEO of Marlin Marketing, and Jacqueline (Jackie) Lewis of Jackie Lewis Media Productions. Other members who were unable to attend were Christopher A. Chambers, Lord of Skighaugh, Temukung Baroness Miranda Kramer, Secretary RSSG-CA and AWL Board member, and Christopher Hulbert, Aide de Camp to the Chairman of RSSG-CA and AWL Board member.

Marquis Peter L. Eckert, who financially sponsored the event, was honored with the Royal Society of St. George Medal of Honor, presented by military veteran Christopher Loverro, Aide de Camp to the RSSG-CA President. Loverro stated, "Today I have the great pleasure of presenting the RSSG Medal of Honor to Marquis Peter L. Eckert. Peter is one of the founding members of the RSSG-CA, and a member in good standing for seven years. In that time frame Peter has attended every event we have ever held and supported us financially and emotionally."

Loverro further stated, "The prestigious RSSG Medal of Honor represents an individual of eminence who has performed in the best interest of the RSSG-CA, with notable service and contributions to help achieve the primary goal of celebrating the English way of life." Eckert was nominated for the medal by Temukung Baroness Miranda Kramer, Secretary of the RSSG-CA and Board member of the AWL, who was unable to attend but sent her wishes, "Today we honor Peter and thank him from the bottom of our hearts for financially sponsoring today's event which allows all donations to go directly to our newly formed Animal Welfare League (AWL)."

After the luncheon, there was a birthday cake and celebration for Princess Karen Cantrell, with Laura Angelini taking the lead with a short version of the song, "I Will Always Love You." At the close of the event, there were gifts and champagne for everyone to take home.

Princess Karen Cantrell made the announcement that Jackie Lewis Media & Events is now the official event planner and producer for the RSSG-CA and AWL events. She welcomed Jackie Lewis and her team to RSSG-CA, and praised their expertise and management of RSSG-CA's previous events. Jackie Lewis Media & Events also works with LABA on many of their events.

The primary goal of the RSSG-CA Animal Welfare League is to aid and support, without competition, various registered and certified 501(c) organizations related to animal care, rescue, adoptions, and other related services.
